The Iliad, the Odyssey, and All of Greek Mythology in 99 Minutes or Less by Jay Hopkins and John Hunter

The Gods walk the Red Carpet. The Creation of Mankind is a botched subcontractor’s job. Man and Pandora try settling down despite an ominous wedding gift. Love stories are a dating show and the Greek Tragedies are sports highlights!

And don’t forget the two greates stories ever told, the Iliad and the Odyssey. Kidnap Helen of Troy and you’ve got a 10 year slap-fight of epic proportions with pouty Achilles, war-hungry Agamemnon and clever Odysseus, destined to wander the seas for 10 more years fighting giants, seductresses and the Gods themselves.

All the silly decisions, the absurd destinies, and the goofy characters are presented lightning-bolt fast with hysterical results as the clock is stopped with only seconds to spare.

Coming February 2010 Edgemar Center for the Arts in Santa Monica, CA.

WEST OF BROADWAY proudly presents Reginald Rose’s classic 12 ANGRY JURORS directed by Diane Namm, the second production in West of Broadway’s “YOU THE JURY”™ SERIES.

Directed by Stage and Film Writer/Director Diane Namm, Namm’s interpretation of 12 ANGRY JURORS provides an updated look at Reginald Rose’s classic story; asking the audience to question their own responsibilities, prejudices and the consequences of their votes. Namm’s diverse casting reflects the current day makeup of juries, while the universal themes ring true regardless of gender and race. Second in the West of Broadway’s “You, the Jury”™ series, 12 ANGRY JURORS is part of WEST OF BROADWAY’s Community Outreach programming; promoting literacy and social and civic responsibility through interactive theater.

“You, the Jury,” TM Series where the Audience acts as the jury on a staged courtroom drama and vote for the innocence or guilt of the defendant.

MONSTER. Written by Walter Dean Myers, was a National Book Award finalist and it is found on most high school reading lists. MONSTER is the story of the murder trial of Steve Harmon, a 16-year old African American boy who is accused of murder for allegedly acting as the lookout in a robbery gone bad. It is a powerful story made more so by the fact that the students get to vote and be involved in the show.
